My Lived Experience
​Hi, I’m Andrea.
​
As a licensed therapist with my own perinatal trauma and perinatal mood disorder (anxiety) experience, I closely connect with the feeling of desperately wanting to start and grow a family and it not going according to plan. With lived experience of infertility, miscarriages, a traumatic birth, and the continual challenges of parenthood, I intimately get it and all the mixed feelings that arise. I also know the invaluable support of individual therapy and how therapy can help navigate these life circumstances. You don’t have to suffer alone. You deserve help and support!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and PMH-C with specialized training in perinatal mental health, perinatal loss, CBT, narrative therapy, and more. I graduated from the University of Georgia School of Social Work and later became a strong advocate of perinatal mental health and education after the traumatic birth of my second child, and enduring a perinatal mood disorder (anxiety) throughout my infertility journey, pregnancies, and postpartum.

I am married and a mama to three young kiddos. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, kiddos, and pup. Traveling, being outdoors, baking, being active, and doing crafts are some of my favorite ways to engage in self-care.
My biggest strengths
I think my biggest strengths are my empathy and compassion for others, and being client-centered. I am genuinely a curious person and seek out education and training on a consistent basis. I am always striving to learn and grow. Clients would say I'm personable, warm, supportive, down to earth, and non-judgmental. I have participated in advanced training in perinatal mental health and am certified in this area as well.
What to expect in our first session
In our first session I will review my role as a therapist, along with confidentiality and mandated reporting. I'll conduct a brief biopsychosocial assessment (brief background information) and we'll create treatment goals for future sessions!

My approach
My goal is to help you feel less anxious and more confident. I want you to feel less stress and validated in your feelings and experiences. I will work with you to process and work through these thoughts and emotions and come to a place where you can manage these various life stressors, and create healthy change.
